To my friend Megan from Liverpool
Hello Megan,
how are you and your family in Liverpool? I’m fine. It’s been four months now that we’ve been in contact for the last time and, as you know, a lot has happened since then.
First of all, about the question from the last letter. Yes, your package from your holidays in the Bahamas arrived and the little gifts were all super cute, so thank you for that! 🙂
But back to the real issue… You know what I’m talking about, the Corona Virus. It’s been almost 3 1/2 months since the virus broke out in China and it didn’t take long for the virus to reach Europe and everywhere else. Well, that was quick. Way too fast, right? I couldn’t really realize how fast the virus spread and how contagious and dangerous it is. I have to tell you honestly that at first I thought that the virus would go away quickly and that all this would not be so sad, but what can I say, it happened exactly the opposite…
The virus was classified as an epidemic. Sure, in no way comparable to Ebola, but still a serious virus.
So Megan, a lot has changed here in Germany and also in Liverpool I think.
A first point is that we have been free of school for about six weeks now and that is really a pretty long time. Of Course, the Easter holidays were still included, but still. It’s kind of weird without school, but I’ve gotten used to it. The school-free time has been surprisingly fast so far. Since there is no school and since I can not really meet with my friends, I miss them already and it is somehow strange to live so “isolated”. How do you feel about that? So I think it’s a little exhausting not really to be able to do anything.
While staying at home, I tried many new things and discovered baking for me. Because I can at least go shopping food, I could get all the baking ingredients I needed. You should try too. 🙂
On Monday, a few shops may open in Germany again, such as the hairdresser.
By keeping many people at home, the spread of the virus could at least be slowed down, which makes me think positively again.
I also do a lot of sports, yoga and meditation to stay physically, but also mentally fit and feel more comfortable and relaxed. I need to be active in some way to be able to focus on schoolwork and other things. The way I know you, you feel the same way. 😉
Okay, I think that’s all.
Take care of yourself and think positively Megan! Think of beautiful memories and moments that makes you happy.
We can do this together.
I’m looking forward to your answer.
Greetings from Germany Madeleine
